Pitt, Aniston formally end 4-year marriage
Film stars Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, once anointed Hollywood's golden couple, have filed to formally end their four-year marriage, court papers showed on Monday.
The divorce papers were filed Aug. 19 in Los Angeles Superior Court after being signed earlier by retired Judge Jill S. Robbins. The ex-couple ended their divorce proceedings on Friday by quietly filing dissolution papers.
Pitt and Aniston separated in January after 4.5 years of marriage. Aniston filed for divorce in March, citing irreconcilable differences.
Since his split with Aniston, Pitt has been linked to actress Angelina Jolie, his "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" co-star. They have not commented publicly on their relationship.
In an interview in the Aug. 9 edition of Vanity Fair, Aniston said she still loved Pitt but was getting on with her life.
"The sad thing, for me, is the way it's been reduced to a Hollywood cliche — or maybe it's just a human cliche," she told the magazine. More articles:
