So you're new to computers and you don't know where to start or where anything ends. First thing to remember is that it's just a machine. Whatever you put into it, is what it puts out. Sometimes it may seem like some mystical force has caused that error to come on your screen. "The computer has a mind of its own!", you say? Everything that happens on a computer is the result of a human mind. From the moment you turn on your computer, you are witnessing what was intended (well hopefully, if everything goes right) to happen.
Next thing to remember is that you must take your time, try new things and read everything that comes on the screen. Most computers today come pre-loaded with a wealth of help and seeing as how you have access to the Internet, your source of knowledge is literally uncountable. For the first few months of owning your computer, you may feel quite overwhelmed by the amount of things to learn. Keep in mind, it's your computer, you bought it for your own enjoyment/productivity.
Set goals for learning. Try figuring out what you have installed on your computer, what each item does, and how to use some of them. If you're on a newer Windows based system, the help database will describe in detail the features of most everything installed(clicking start and going to the "help" or "help and support" item will pull up this database).
Try to keep things comfortable. If you're having problems getting something to work or accomplishing a task, stop what you're trying and search for help on the topic. Using an online search engine on almost any topic will pull up countless web sites related and yes, unrelated to that topic.
