  • Make your doctor visits hassle-free!

As Plato said in the Republic, "Necessity is the mother of invention." I recently turned 50 and my doctor and I are now on a first name basis. At my age, he frequently schedules new tests to keep me healthy and/or find out what is wrong with me. I want to keep such experimentation to a minimum. Therefore, the rationale for Hey Doc!

Clearly doctors feel overwhelmed in their jobs and communicating effectively with individual patients requires a little help. Therefore, the rationale for Hey Doc!

My wife has experienced chronic pain for many years and bounced from specialist to specialist. She underwent various tests, MRIs, surgery, and physical therapy. Her main doctor prescribed medication after medication to give her relief. With each new prescription or remedy the insurance company demands a list of previous treatments. With so many doctors involved it was hard to keep track of it all. Therefore, the rationale for Hey Doc!

The convenience of the internet allows me to do my own research. But to keep me from gaining enough medical knowledge to be dangerous, I want to inform my doctor of what I find. Therefore, the rationale for Hey Doc!

For many years I have been on high blood pressure medicine, but recently my pressure returned to normal. I needed proof so that the doctor would release me from my medication. Therefore, the rationale for Hey Doc!

Time after time, each doctor would ask, "What medication are you currently taking? What did the other doctor prescribe?" I would invariably forget the exact name of the medication and the dosage. I would then berate myself for not bringing the bottle in for the doctor. Telling him, ?It is was the white one with little pink dots? doesn?t seem to help much. Therefore, the rationale for Hey Doc!

On one occasion I made an appointment because my left knee swelled. I couldn?t walk for the entire weekend, but by the time I saw the doctor (you guessed it!) the swelling was gone. The general symptoms of my arthritis were still there but I couldn?t remember exactly how they manifested themselves. While I sat there wondering what terrible things the doctor could do to me to find the answer, I thought, "There has to be a better way to communicate." Therefore, the rationale for Hey Doc!

As the Good Book says, "bodily training is of some value." I have been told to exercise and walk more, but I needed some help tracking the "value" of physical training. Therefore, the rationale for Hey Doc!

Since I am not the only Timothy Williams in the world, confusion often arises with my chart. At one doctor appointment the nurse asked if I had lost a lot of weight recently. The medical chart in front of her listed my weight at over 300 lbs. Since I have never weighed that much, and recently lost about 40 lbs, I had no interest in another person's chart being applied to me. To help keep this from happening again, you guessed it, another good reason to develop Hey Doc!

If you would like to have a special version of this program for your office, company, or group, please contact me. Branded versions are available for a very reasonable price.

    Sincerely,

    Timothy Williams
